About
Welcome to Purposeful Psychology
I’m Vanessa Ereaux, a psychologist based in Dee Why on Sydney’s Northern Beaches, offering both in-person and Telehealth sessions across Australia.

My practice began with a focus on general mental health support—helping adults of all ages navigate depression, anxiety, stress and life’s challenges. Over time, it has grown to include more specialised work in Lipoedema and ADHD, areas that have become core passions of mine. Today, I bring together both my broad experience in mental health and my special interests to support clients with compassion and practical tools.

General mental health support
I work with both women and men on a wide range of mental health concerns, including:
-
Depression, anxiety and stress
-
Adjustment to life changes
-
Relationship and family issues
-
Grief and loss
-
Sleep and energy problems
-
Low self-esteem, confidence and assertiveness
I provide a safe, validating space where you can explore difficulties, build coping skills and move towards greater wellbeing.

Why Lipoedema support matters to me
I live with Lipoedema myself. I know first-hand how difficult it can be to carry a condition that is poorly understood, often dismissed, and resistant to weight-loss interventions. The frustration, the grief, the exhaustion of searching for answers—it’s a heavy load. I also know the resilience and strength that women with Lipoedema carry every single day.
My role is to offer a safe, validating space to work through:
-
Adjusting to a new diagnosis
-
Navigating healthcare systems that don’t always listen
-
Managing body image challenges, despair, and grief
-
Building self-compassion, acceptance and hope
-
Finding meaning, connection and quality of life beyond the condition
Why ADHD support matters to me
ADHD can bring both challenges and unique strengths. I support adults in managing executive functioning, emotional regulation, motivation, relationships and daily living skills with a warm, neuro-affirming approach.
My approach is neuro-affirming, collaborative and practical. I provide evidence-based strategies to help with:
-
Executive functioning (organisation, planning, getting things done)
-
Emotional regulation and rejection sensitivity
-
Motivation, habit building and follow-through
-
Relationships and communication
-
Work, study and daily living supports
You don’t need a formal diagnosis to begin therapy. Whether you’re exploring ADHD as a possibility or already diagnosed, support is available.

My style
Clients often describe me as warm, validating and down-to-earth. I use CBT, ACT and strengths-based approaches, always keeping sessions practical so you leave with tools you can apply straight away.
